Kanix Forest
Amederic: Kanix'út
Kanix Forest1 covers much of the area along the coast of Ahix Sea in northern Dragonía, north of the Plain of Spirits and the Plain of Kings. The ancient Paqolns lived there at the end of the last ice age before the warming climate drew them to extinction some 30.000 years b.Dr, after which no one lived there until the 3rd century a.Dr, when ancestors of the Ameders migrated there from Ela'k Forest.

Geography
The region is relatively flat, save for Krystó Ridge in the mid-western part of the forest. The trees are smaller to the west due to weaker sunlight caused by the element of Darkness, then gradually grow taller though sparser around Krystó ridge. The eastern part of Kanix Forest, known as Þaln'út, has some of the tallest trees in Dragonía, while mist covers the ground, and fog and rains are frequent due to influence of the element of Water.
The three main sources of water in the region are Fórekaz River to the far west which drains into Klalaþan Sea, Laanl River -which originates in Krystó Ridge and flows south to the Plain of Spirits-, and Ahúl River which drains into Ahix Sea.

Fauna & Flora
Kanix Forest is home to the little Bexa Birds, the only ones capable of flight in northern Dragonía, as well as the Antanas, hulking, vaguely gorilla-like creatures with large eyes and thick fur. Jaþraaz Wolves, Tnig Boars and deer are also common in the woods, while snakes, foxes, Nólas and small rodents can be found on the forest floor.
Large Níak Birds make their nests along the coast, spewing foul liquid on those who threaten their chicks, while some species of Tóvenkaras (marine reptiles with beak-like mouths) crawl on land to lay and bury their eggs in the sand.
Frost Trees only grow in western Kanix Forest, identified by their bark, which glitters as if frozen, and the leaves emit steam whenever touched by sunlight. Ameders use the wood from those trees in ice chests for its cooling properties, and statues and jewelry because of its sparkle.
