Gnikrin Peninsula

The roughly triangular Gnikrin Peninsula1 forms the southernmost point of the Sjorg Desert in southwestern continental Dragonía. The city of Garks, capital of the Óraxes and what remains of their once mighty Órax Empire, is located on the western coast, along with a dozen surrounding villages, some of which are remnants of Garks' outskirts.
The region has long been known for the production of a fish sauce known as hlúkkex, particularly during the early days of the Órax Empire, after which overfishing caused that industry to move elsewhere on the coast, but has moved to the peninsula once more as the ecosystem gradually recovered since the empire's fall. Shrines and altars erected in honour of Hremá, god of the sea, dot the coastline.
