Vorran Peninsula

Vorran Peninsula1 is the largest of its kind in Dragonía, effectively a subcontinent jutting from the western edge of the mainland. Much of the region is covered in tropical rainforest and swamps, which form the western part of woodlands covering western Dragonía.
It's the home of the reptilian Kroks, who migrated there from the Múlíat Mountains to the east millennia ago.

Geography

Vorran Peninsula is bordered by the Vúrakesen Mountains to the east - which form the border between the peninsula and the mainland proper-, Klalaþan Sea to the north, Virrem Islands to the west, Epram Island to the southwest and Ilkigit Sea to the south.
A number of rivers flow through the region, the largest ones being Þvan River, Súveb River and Íseb River -the latter two flowing out of Haþem Lake- to the east, Epvor River, Kvór-í River and Naþvakró to the west, with Naþvakró being the longest. At the heart of the peninsula are five great lakes collectively known as Savrí, west of which is the smaller Vövlúrr Lake.
The land in the northernmost part of the peninsula is dominated by Akveb Ridge, while the Tvemna Mountains rise to the far west. The Virrem Islands are located between Vorran Peninsula and the edge of the world, while off the southwest coast is the large Epram Island.
Western Vorran Peninsula in particular is heavily affected by the element of Light; one can feel the glare of sun even when indoors, and the stars are so bright that looking at them directly hurts the eyes.

Fauna & Flora

Due to its relative isolation, the Vorran Peninsula features very different wildlife compared to the rest of Dragonía. Amphibians such as Abraals and Þvotrans, reptiles such as Vaakrías, fishes such as Vlarks and insects are dominant in the region, the few mammals living there (notably Enísas and Eretvóas), are mostly found up in the mountains and birds are unknown to the peninsula.
Silk Trees are endemic to Vorran Peninsula, the sap of which the native kroks use to produce tree silk for clothing.

Natural Resources

Lightstones, especially clear ones which lack impurities, are found in abundance under the peninsula, though the native kroks only mine exposed veins in small quantities.
