Varr

Varr /vaʁ:/ is the easternmost of the central territories of the Kroks on the Vorran Peninsula in western Dragonía, and covers the land along the east bank of the Súveb River. It's bordered by the Ilkigit Sea to the south and the territories of Vraahe to the southeast, Naþvotere to the east, Melerkún and Velk-í to the northeast, Íberral beyond Haþem Lake -source of the Súveb- to the north and Úsavrí beyond the river to the west.
The territory is centered around the capital of Królane by the upper Súveb, which like most towns and cities on the Vorran Peninsula is only inhabited during tribal gatherings each year. An important part of these gatherings, like in the villages on the other side by the river, is catching emnaa bass as the fish migrates upriver to spawn, which coincides with the time when Krok children hatch from their eggs and thus are traditionally their very first meal.
Since the bass is only supposed to be eaten during the festival held at this time, any excess catch is given to the villagers on the other side as a sign of goodwill.
The tribes of Varr were the first to tame golden enísas, small, horned rodents related to the larger common enísa, the main livestock of the Kroks. While both species are raised as a source of food and leather, Varr is the only territory where golden enísas are preferred, and form an important part of the local -especially inland- cuisine.
