Níróg Beetles
Óraxtap: Níróg
Hritt: Girx
Kúxic: Ójóak
Níróg beetles1 are relatively large insects found in southern Dragonía, particularly in the Sjorg Desert and the region of Darlaa in the western Múlíat Mountains.
The Órax goddess of war, Strjúxal, is usually depicted with the head and sometimes wings of a níróg beetle. During the Órax Empire, high-ranking warriors sometimes wore cloaks imitating the markings on the beetles' elytra.
The Kúxes in eastern Darlaa consider the beetles sacred as well, for they feed on other insects that would otherwise ruin their crops.
