The Tower of Dakath
The capitol city of the elven kingdom of Dakath. The city is one large tower on the northern coast of the valley droplet sea. Though it is called a tower, it only has five floors, and thus is wider than it is tall. So it is more like a tiered cake.
Demographics
Mostly elves and half-elves.
Government
It is a kingdom, with the king of the Dakath elves being the grandson of the founder of the city, King Salyndir Larethious.
Districts
There are five districts to Dakath, each a floor in its tower.
1- The Foundation District: The warehouse and port district and lowest level of the tower. Many foreigners looking for the scraps that fall off the tables from above make their home here.
2- The Mason District: The industrial sector and laborer district. While most industry is done elsewhere and simply shipped to the Tower, some artisinal manufacturing is done here. Also, this district is home to the guilds and bank factions of Dakath, often receiving requests from the host of clients above. The famous guild "The Ratcatchers" makes its home here.
3- The Arcana District: The center of magic within Dakath. It is split into eight districts, each run by a clan. There is the Senju Clan, specialist in closing rifts, the Aghos Clan, specialist in cold magics and refrigeration, the Kuniyori Clan, master rune crafters and scroll makers, the Asa Clan, specialists in light and illumination, the Neihite Clan, observers and students of the planes, the Ililar Clan, master summoners, the Dainduil Clan, the clan devoted to medicine and healing, and finally the Gwea Clan, a generalist school of magic. This district competes with Val'ul and Seer's Sight for the greatest magic school outside of the Church of Veritas.
4- The Garden District: The upper crust of society, this district is home to the aristocracy and their armies of personal servants and guards, and the myriad of markets and services that arise to please these wealthy elite elves. The drama and conflict that arises in this district is enough to satisfy many lifetimes.
5- The Palace District: On top of the tower is the palace of the king of Dakath's palace. The palace is almost a city of its own, with its own districts and thousands of servants and guards. A pagoda centers it all, the throne and home of the king. While it is called the Palace District, the palace only takes up a third of the floor. The other two thirds are the Dakath's flying navy military base of operations and the Dakath arcane shield generator facility.
History
During the Sundering, a religious reformation hit the Dakath Elves. The world calls it Elven Secularism, as though they believe that they are on the path to Veritas, they do not worship it. They see Veritas as a science to learn, not a god to worship or a state to be.
A couple decades before the Dormant Rise, a civil conflict began between the western high elves and the eastern wilds wood elves. It was a growing issue of urban versus rural governmental bias, and secessionist movements began emerging in the Eastern Fey Wilds territory around Memore. Elves are not wasteful with their life though, so violent conflicts were infrequent. The conflict reached its head by 1050, when a new player joined the war, Kalethorn Nur, Duke of Oriaphia. His aid led to the easts victory, splitting Dakath into two.
