Silihadran

Silihadran is a fey city-state located on the north western side of the Southern Farmlands region. They are members of the Sovereign People's of Neih.

Demographics

Fey of all sorts live here, from wood elves to satyrs, fairies to gremlings. The two main demographics are Tuatha and Furbolgs.

Government

Silihadran was ruled by a council of 6 powerful beings. There is the Archfey Titania who carries a seat in the council though she does not live in Neih, the tuatha queen Brighid, the sparrowman Bear Rainweb, the furbolg elder Sarceron, and two celestials of winter Jack Frost and the winter general Rasputisa. Each one carries authority over certain regions of the Western Fey Wilds and around Silihadron, and thus work together for the best interest of the Fey together.   This council disolved shortly after joining the Sovereign People's of Neih after the Dormant were repulsed, with Brighid and Bear being the remaining members of the city. The Winter celestials migrated east to the Shogunate of Dakath, while Sarceron abandoned the demands of the valley civilizations to focus on the needs of the Western Fey Wilds. This split spelled the doom to their power, as without the frozen might of Winter or the druidic might of the furbolgs, the city was too week to stop the spread of Ulian Sea which flooded the city in 1130, killing the queen in the process. The remnant still follow Bear in the flooded city, but the government was in shambles.

History

Silihadron was the only fey city to successfully resist aggression from the Veritian expansion during the Years of Expansion through the valley region of the Veritian Leaf. They held their own during the Sundering and the Dark Ages. But during the Dragon Blight, the Silihadron council figured the dragons to be a bigger threat than their unorganized neighbors. They joined the fight against Balmerrait at Break, and a former member of the Silihadran council, Babayaga, even lead the charge of the ancient green dragon's imprisoning.   In 1040, Silihadron aided in the Frozen War at the behest of Jack Frost and Rasputisa. As celestials of the Seraph of Winter, they were trying to locate an eternal winter for their master. When they learned it was a frittian anomaly, they offered their aid in cleaning it up, hoping to research corpse of the Child of Frit and his moving fortress. This relation led to a loose alliance with the country of Tumult. This relationship remained fragile, as the fey could not fully be aboard the undead might of Bedrich. But the Dormant were worse, so they swallowed their distrust.   In 1052, Silihadron finally officially disolved this alliance, joining the force that would defeat the lich king Bedrich. After this victory, they joined the budding nation of the Sovereign People's of Neih. While the city's tuatha and fairy population flourished, the frozen fey could not abide the rising Summer worship nor their reputation with the northern neighbors of Tumult. Added to this, their general still slept, and Jack Frost suffered from a paranoia he could not escape. So, he orchestrated a trade with the Shogunate of Dakath, offering the general's two daughters as concubines in trade for safety for their people. The Shogunate accepted in 1075.   In the 1080s, the Furbolgs grew tired of the encroaching industry of Tumult and the SPN. They also were worried about the growing Ulian Sea. They tried to tap the Tuatha's environmentalist sentiments, but they profitted too heavily from Silihadron's growing economy. So, the Furbolgs returned to their trees in Fast.    In 1130, the Ulian Sea finally reached the city, causing a great flood.

Architecture

As a fey city, it does not carry the same designs as humanoids. Only the Divide district has buildings like that man would make. Most of their buildings are built with nature in mind, with cave structures in the Furbolg district, treehouses in the Tuatha district, and huts and hovels in the Fey Gardens. They do have defensive structures made of stone such as walls and towers, but they incorporate it around the natural environment.   But there are two structure which stand out in this city. There is the central tower where the council sits looking over the entire region. Its sole purpose is for the council to convene. It is the third tallest building on the Veritian Leaf, below the Tower of Dakath and the main cathedral at Cathedral. A noteworthy thing about it is that a river flows towards it, but not from it. Where the water goes, the fey do not tell. The second building is a floating glacier in the Winter District. It is home to Jack Frost and Rasputisa, and is the center of Winter worship on the Veritian Leaf. This glacier moved to New Nur in 1075.

Geography

Half the city is in the Western Fey Wilds, thus is forested. The rest of the city is also covered in overgrowth and gardens. The Fey Tear River flows into Silihadron. The Winter district is the only one without an abundance of plant life, being covered will hills of snow. In 1130, the city was flooded by the Ulian Sea, making it more swampy.
