Glade

Glade is the city of the yuan-ti on the Veritian Leaf. It was established by the ancient green dragon Sistern during the Dragon Blight and terraformed into the desert appropriate for the species. Even after the defeat of Sistern at the hands of the Dakath elves, Glade was established and settled. Not wanting to pursue a costly eradication of the yuan-ti people after several decades of war, they were left alone to build their own kingdom. Unlike the gith who also travelled with the green dragon, the yuan-ti had no means of going home.
Glade was an isolationist kingdom during the Era of Kings. Their only significant geopolitical activity occurred during the sugar mine explosion of 932 that destroyed a gith settlement directly south of their kingdom. The destruction caused a kerfuffle, as many powerful nations thought they were testing weapons of mass destruction. Minor conflicts with Break and Dakath occurred because of it.
During the Dormant Advance, the city of Glade fell to the general Ra. The dormant occupied the city from 1034 to 1041, but once Tel'ul returned the skull of Sistern to them, and with a major defeat in the north, the yuan-ti resistance reclaimed the city and pushed the Dormant back into their lands.
After the wars with the Dormant, Glade joined an alliance with Tel'ul and the Three Cities.

Demographics

It is a yuan-ti city, but with the alliance formed with northern city states, there has been a small influx of other races.

Government

It is a kingdom ruled by a pharaoh. The lineage of said pharaoh comes from the chosen champion of Sistern years prior. This lineage was eradicated by the Dormant Cult in 1034, but with the liberation of Glade in 1041, and the moderate freeing of Balmerrait, Lord of Green, a new line was chosen. The ancient green dragon, not fully free from his cell, is only a loose advisor to the city.

Glade follows an Egyptian motif.

It is built in a artificial desert brought to the Veritian Leaf.
