Jack Frost

Vl'rotheem (a.k.a. Jack Frost)

Jack Frost is a celestial spirit created by the Seraph of Winter. While his creator's season is long over, he now lives on the Veritian Leaf and sits as member of the Silihadron Council. He is a trickster snow spirit known for fighting in the Frozen War of 1040 in Tumult and kidnapping the hero Malvo one time. He also hatched a plot with the queen of Tumult, Queen Mirabel, to destroy the Lantern of Sorrow which controlled her husband. He was too late to save Bedrich, but he did succeed in destroying the echo of Spring while it was in the middle of trying to claim a new holder.

Personal history

It would be difficult to write the entire history of this being, as he lived for many millennia. Thus this synopses leaves out much. In the winter in which he was born, his job was to control the flurries and snows to entertain the Seraph of Winter during the long cold years of that season. He did that with pride, which made him have little contact with any of the peoples living through that period. He would have been considered a fairly minor spirit to the creations of Winter that ruled over the cold.   During the Spring, like all winter spirits trying to survive the floods, Jack Frost went underground, and only emerged with the damp frosts of the season (periods of a few years at best). He waited until the buds of summer were blooming to emerge completely with the fey. He moved unto the Veritian Leaf with his compatriot Rasputisa. His alliance with the fey was more a contract of convenience. He did not carry the fey's aversion of lesser races when they showed up. Even a group of water genasi from the Church of Veritas Neih branch even consider him and Rasputisa as saints and host pilgrimages to Silihadron to see them though the majority of their members are located in church lands.   Whenever wintery invents occur, Jack Frost goes to investigate. This led him to travel to Dakath often as they had a Frittian Tear there. This relationship soured due to the elves secular and atheistic worldview, and Jack Frost became openly antagonistic against the Dakath elves.   When a Frittian anomaly occurred in Tumult (see the Frozen War), Jack Frost was quick to intervene hoping to study the disaster. It proved to be mostly an environmental disaster caused by the poor disposal of a Child of Frit, but Jack Frost was able to make a friend there in an aasimar named Judas. His ally Rasputisa also was able to build geopolitical relations with Tumult. At first, this was promising, but when a couple months later king Bedrich returned as a lich infused with the power of Spring, the Persistent were stuck with a blasphemous ally. Thus began Jack Frost's work at making a weapon to kill the lich.   To do so, he first tried to gain access to the Hall of Seasons gifted to the heroes of Dusk Malvo and his compatriots. When his kidnapping of Malvo failed, he sought rather to hire the heroes to fix his staff to make a weapon to fight the Bedrich. They refused. Thus, he repaired his staff that broke many millennia back himself and hunted down the essence of Summer in powerful Summer Worshippers such as the high priest of Third and Elias Meadowgrove. He tested the weapon out on the Ul of Tel'ul using the power harvested by the Thirdric high priest (killed during the wedding of Bedrich and Mirabel), and found it had a devastating on the structure of Spring. But the mission failed when it came to the capture of Elias.   He needed the power of Summer, and with the Dormant defeat, he found he had an opportunity to find some in Evermore. While the chaos of the Dormant retreat in the west was going on, Jack Frost slipped into Evermore and found the holy body of the high priest of Evermore and took it to charge his staff. He then waited for the opportunity to use it on Bedrich, which came in 1052 as he fought the Sovereign People's of Neih. He planned that attempt with queen Mirabel, even going as far as getting Lady Mirabel to orchestrate an assassination during the attempted Peace Conference in Dakath. He was late to the battle though, and did not arrive in time to save Bedrich. Mirabel did not take this lightly, and has since shown an animosity to the trickster angel.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Jack Frost aided in the victory for Tumult in the Frozen War which created a moderate alliance between Tumult and the Fey of the Western Fey Wilds.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Like many of the Persistent (a group of Winter spirits who refuse to fade with the ending of winter), Jack Frost is devoted to finding a new realm of eternal cold for his creator. While the Seraph never supports this movement, she also does nothing to stop their efforts. Thus Jack Frost, with his partner Rasputisa, are very interested in the Frittian realm, and spent their days at their floating ice fortress in Silihadron trying to find a way to either bring eternal winter to Neih or something to entice the Seraph to go to a new realm.

Vices & Personality flaws

Jack Frost is a trickster spirit, and thus may cause mischief for either fun or to serve his own benefits. It is ultimately for good though, even if those he tricked are hurt or perish. This habit of his makes him the loose cannon of the Silihadron Council, rarely sitting on the council. While he helped the fey more than hurt them with his leadership, he still has a bad reputation for his inaction in the Dragon Blight.

Social

Religious Views

He is a devout follower of the Seraph of Winter.

Wealth & Financial state

His only possession is his staff which cracked back in Winter. He repaired it in 1041, turning it into a weapon to fight constructs of Spring, using Summer's energy as fuel.
