Sinfetter

Sinfetter is a Shadar Kai city on the Veritian Leaf. It was founded by the explorer Lothcryn in 525, hoping to exploit the saltflats there. Salt was a rare commodity on Neih during the Summer, often times needing to be mined deep. So the discovery of salt near the surface of a continental leaf was worth colonizing a leaf with powerful kingdoms forming. It remained an resource exploiting city on the border of civilization for centuries, never becoming too rich or too powerful for local nations to take notice. Though Lothcryn tried to invest into his little city, the empire never saw much reason to better a border colony, draining the profits and subduing any attempts to become stronger or independent. Even when the Dormant conquered the city for near a decade, the motherland thought it better to abandon the colony rather than fight a Dormant incursion. Thus Sinfetter is split politically, with a powerful apathetic empire watching over it, and an impoverished bitter people doing all the work.

Demographics

Sinfetter is an elven city with most citizens being Shadar Kai. After the Dormant occupation, the city lost much of its population, so migrant workers from the SPN have been moving in for the work (humans, dwarves, yuan-ti).

Government

Sinfetter is a colonial city with a governor chosen by the motherland to rule over it. Lothcryn was the first ruler, followed by Lord Thvorn after his death. Colonel Muskrat received the governorship after the failed independence movement of the Raven Queen Lysan.

Industry & Trade

Their main industry is their numerous salt mines throughout the saltflats. They also have a minor shipyard, producing a handful of Shadar Kai blimps a year.

Districts

Sinfetter was split into four districts.   Living Dream Fortress: The political and military district of Sinfetter. It has the main fortress of the city, a statue of Lothcryn, and a large graveyard for the heroes of Sinfetter.   The Workers District: Much of this district was lost in the war with the Dormant, never rebuilt. Otherwise, it has a blimp shipyard and a casino (once owned by GRG, but was repossessed by the government when they were bankrupted). It once had a small hospital for the poor, but it was lost in the war.   The Art District: The wealthier portion of the city, but also the area keen on maintaining Shadar Kai culture. It consists of many wealthy estates, a decent library, a museum, and the city's main bank.   The Foreign Quarter: A small portion of the city was divied out to foreigners after the Dormant's defeat. Mainly housing Sovereign Peoples, with them having a sizable embassy there.
