Shadar Kai Empire

The Shadar Kai empire is a multi-leaf colonial empire on Neih during the summer period of the Veritian Leaf. It spans four continental leaves, and has colonies in a dozen others. Most of their territory are in the shaded leafs, continents known for the lack of light, smaller than the light facing continents, but carry challenges that when met create great nations. The Shadar Kai Empire main continent is Neih Shadar, most known for being a terminal continent, as many fey highways pass through this leaf. The Shadar Kai have exploited this feature, spreading to many continents because of it.   The Shadar Kai empire's origin was with a sect of dark elves fleeing the slavery of the Raven Queen. While their not completely irreligious, the Shadar Kai of Neih were oppositional to higher powers seeking subservience. Much of their early history was warring with the Neihite archfey on the various leaves they conquered.   They sent an exhibition to the Veritian Leaf in the year 525. As there were other civilizations growing there, there was not much motivation to conquer it. The discovery of large salt deposits in the Saltflats there was the only perk to remaining, and their explorer Lothcryn settled Sinfetter to exploit that. They remained mostly uninvolved with the locals, only aiding the locals during the Dragon Blight. This isolationism was broken when the Dormant conquered Sinfetter. The motherland simply abandoned the colony, while the Sovereign Peoples aided in the freeing of the city.   Seeing that the Veritian Leaf defeated a Dormant incursion, the Shadar Kai empire began to show more interest in the leaf. But their attempts to build relations with the Veritians was stonewalled by the Gis Revenus Gojira, who saught to exploit the Fey Gates for a profit. With this road block, much of their efforts on the Veritian Leaf were disappointing to the colonists. They almost lost the colony to an independence movement following a new "Raven Queen." They subdued that attempt, but the future of that colony is bleak.
