The Veritian Leaf

The Veritian Leaf is the continental leaf in which the "Stillborn God" campaign takes place. Though initially a majorly fey region, a thousand years prior to the events of the campaign races such as humans, dwarves, elves (and other d&d playable races) settled the leaf. They were an exodus of a cult from the Lesser Realms which worshiped the Path to Veritas, and thus gladly settled the world of their faith. Though the Church of Veritas (the cult) still holds much power, there has been a split a few hundred years into their expansion called The Sundering as peoples broke away from the faith either to become secular communities or to return to old gods. These Lesser Races inhabit the valley near the central vein of the leaf, while the eastern and western edges are vast fey wilds and enchanted forests. The northern tip remains under the firm control of the Church of Veritas, while the southern region near the stem has recently fallen under the sway of a militant group called the Dormant Cult.

Geography

The Eastern and the Western Edge consists of vast forests, from boreal to temperate to tropical. The central stem called the Main Vein along the Lighted Valley consists of a mountain range.   Between these two regions are areas of planes and Savannah, hill regions and plateaus. Much of the lesser races of the Church settled here for its arable lands.   There are two regions with sizable seas, but they are no oceans on this leaf.   The Tip used to have quite the forest, as it was the spot receiving the most light, but the Church tamed the region years ago. Spots of uncontrolled wild are hard to find, replaced by large gardens and stone cities.   The Dormant Lands receives the least amount of light, and a lot of sediment gathers here. One would find salt flats, a dark sea, a mountain range made of calcium, and a deadly miasma covers pockets of it.

Ecosystem

The weather system of a leaf of Neih during the summer is different to earth-like realms. First off, there is rarely any rain. Rain in Neih tends to be on the cosmic scale, so whole worlds are rearranged in the outcome of a shower. Summer luckily has only a few such showers. There are also some areas that receive rainlike weather of a mild sort, usually caused by living near large bodies of water and strong winds. But generally rain is rare.   There are four types of weather on a Neihite leaf (not including a common sunny day):   1. Misty: A mist of water covers a region coming out of the leaf itself.   2. Dust Storm: The movement of dust picked up from off of Neihite branches or from the base of the tree.   3. Life Storm: Flower petals and magical energy course through the air giving a general air of good mood.   4. Glorious Essence: The world is filled with the Cosmic Tree's essence, making death far less likely and everything momentarily brimming with good health. But it fades as quickly as it arrives.
