Yenaria Day 3864-4416: The conflicts of The United Delfic States and The Yenari Empire

As the Nill Crusade is still raging, Deemor Darmin wanders the plains around the Strepslim. He meets with Neerse Vimtoric a Tern Bas chieftain who has united many of the Tern Bas tribes. Neerse Vimtoric believes that it is his destiny to rule of the Early Yenari Empire. Deemor Darmin agree with him and declares him the first Gran Father. A rank the gives him divine right to rule over the Empire.    With his divine mandate he falls upon the Yenari Empire still fighting in the Nill Crusade. Neerse Vimtoric takes half his army and moves towards Delfi causing the crusaders to quickly abandon Nil. As The delfi army embarked on ships to move towards delfi, the Delnari ships attacked them and caused a massive defeat. At the same time the Yenari Empire army surged forward to capture the unguarded holy city of [Nil](settlement:4af3f192-3a56-47aa-bfcb-1b6b598547ce). However, they left Yeni almost completly ungaurded. and Neerse Vimtoric 2nd army quickly captures the city. Yeni is so undefended that some scholars have wondered if Neerse Vimtoric offered to attack the United Delfic Alliance and then betrayed the Yenari Empire and took Yeni. Quickly realizing their mistake the Yenarian turn to retake Yeni. However, Neerse's 1st army only feinted at Delfi and turned south to join Neerse at Yeni. The two armies of the Tern Bas defeat the Yenarians, and march toward the unguarded city of Nil. The city, blockaded and starving, surrenders with out anyone drawing arms to defend it.   The next part of the war involves Neerse trying to get across the lower strepslim with the Delnari ships patrolling the Strepslim. This attempt takes many days and Neerse kept failing to cross. Neerse even captures and burns to the ground the city of Delnari, despite this the delnari people fight on from their second most important city of Delfari. Eventually, the mountain people of the Vorden Mountians break away from the remnants of the Early Yenari Empire controlled by Kallus Ternvic, they attack and capture Delfari, a importantant Delnarian city, they also capture the Delnarian navy as well. This capture of Delfari and the navy allowed Neerse to cross the Strepslim. He quickly captures the rest of the Fertile Shar. However, the city of Delfari remains in the hands of the newly formed nation of Vordenlan.   The attempt to cross the Strepslim by Neerse, allowed United Delfic Alliance time to regroup and improve their defenses. By the time Neerse captured the Fertile Shar, Delfi had regrouped and was strong enough to defend against Neerse. The new threat of Neerse Vimtoric also caused the United Delfic Alliance to form into the United Delfic States. Where the alliance was a group of cities in a strong alliance, the Delfi states consolidated its power in the city of Delfi and presented a much more unified front.   After Neerse took over the Yenari Empire three major events happened in the 3900s. 1st Neerse lived to a ripe old age of 146 days and oversaw the spread of Gran Saminism into the Yenari Empire. Scholars mark this time as the start of the modern Yenarian culture. Second, as Gran Saminism was spreading the Yenari Empire was losing control over the northern parts of the Fertile Shar. By 3928 the North Fertile Shar had joined the United Delfic States. Third, the nation of Vordenlan entered what scholars consider to be its golden age. With control of the city of Delnari and newly discovered mineral deposits in the mountains the nation quickly grew into a trading powerhouse. During the Strepslim Skirmishes Vordenlan successfully held off the Cradari Empire.   In 3952 The United Delfic States signs the Open Deflic Agreement allowing any merchant to use its ports. For over one hundred days the United Delfic Alliance had to use the The Spirit Road to trade with anyone outside the Tresbort Lakes area. The road is a long 200 miles, which made trade difficult with other nations. This isolation hurt the United Delfic Alliance economy. So in 3952 after Neerse Vimtoric passed away the United Delfic States signed the agreement with the Yenari Empire. While the trade agreement help with the United Delfic States economey, a few days after the agreement was signed the Delfians faced another threat.   As Gran Saminism spread through the plains of the Strepslim the Tern Bas tribes that did not accept the new religion were pushed further into the desert. This migration caused many of the Noshar Desert to move toawrds the Tresbort Lakes. This caused many conflicts and skirmishes with the United Delfic States. For over 100 days the Delfians had to deal with the incursions from the desert tribes. In response to this the United Delfic Alliance developed a strong defensive military philosophy.   In 4056 the Yenari Empire was plunged into chaos. Neerse the 3 was assassinated in the cityDurbarrak and Keraak Stuk "the userper" forced the religious leaders to elect him 4th father. Keraak then took his army of Tern Bas and marched toward Yeni. Under pressure the nobles of Yeni accepted the rule of Keraak Stuk "the userper". He then marched to take the city of Delfi. In the attack Keraak was slain and the Yenari Empire had a succession crisis. At the same time the United Delfic States keeps attacking and takes the city of Nil as well as all of the southern Fertile Shar. As this is happening the Delnari revolts from Vordenlan and forms the The Delnari Coalition . They become a strong navel power controlling the trade on the Strepslim loosely allied with the United Delfic Alliance.   The United Delfic States remains in control of the Fertile Shar and the city of Nil. With a strong navel presence in Lake Resbort they are able to control most of the trade and prevent the Yenari Empire from retaking Nil. Over the next 70 days the Yenari Empire slowly rebuilds its navel presence and attempts to retake Nil. While for much of its history the city of Nil was sacred and bearing arms in the city was disallowed, during this period the United Delfic States had to fortify the city to prevent it from being retaken by the Yenari Empire. Yet as the Yenari Empire increased its navel strength, after 70 days Delfi could no longer resupply the city by the lake and had to abandon the city.   Scholars consider the start of the War of 200 days to be when Delfi abandoned Nil in 4143. However, that is a fairly arbitrsy distinction because the Yenari Empire had been skirmishing with the United Delfic States for over 70 days as they attempted to recapture Nil. The War of 200 days in reality was a series of smaller conflicts where the United Delfic States attempted to secure control of Lake Resbort to increase its trade and influence. While the Yenari Empire attempted to cut of the United Delfic States acces to the lake and recapture the Fertile Shar that it lost 100 days before.   The war was marked by the increasing use of more advanced military technology. Specifically, as trade with the Sol Cid Ire increased the use of Gonnes and Kannons became more prevalent. This caused the reliance of the Yenari Empire on a Tern Bas astride a giant Dreck to diminish. The smaller reedboats used also changed to become larger and sturdier to accommodate larger Kannons.   The War of 200 days came to an end when the Yenari Empire managed to to overcome the defemses of Delfi and capture the city
