Bipod Cresent and Moon

Bipods have a crescent and moon shaped footpad. The forward part of the foot is crescent of a tough keratin like substance flattened into a backwards facing crescent. The moon of the foot is bone that runs down the back of the last leg bone and ends in a circular shaped keratin pad. The moon on some species sharpens into a point that is used for defense or foraging in the ground.
