Yenaria Day 0-659 - The age of Blackness

The Yenarian region was one of the locations that the first descendants decided to settle. Information from this time come from oral folk tales passed down through the generations and from the codified teachings of Barsaminism and Gran Saminism. Those stories present a grand and often times fantastical view of the first descendants. The common theme of the stories involve the first decedents living in palaces among the stars and leaving the stars for the soil of Didome. Some of the stories depict this as triumphant decent to a land of opportunity, while other depict the descendants leaving corrupt and star palaces. Among Stellites scholars a debate rages as to how literally to take the star palaces. Some argue that the first decedents literally lived among the stars and descended. Others argue that the decent was only a metaphor and it represents the descendants travelling to the Yenaria region from another part of didome, such as Eral Islands or Cress Vruk. Despite the debate around the origins of the first descents, all scholars and priest agree that the first city the descendants founded was the city of Promethus. The myths and legends tell of a miraculous city that provided for the Promethean peoples every need. Barsamin scholars even claimed that the spirt of Prometheus could bend the wild spirits of Didome to its will.   The miraculous city of Promethus was not to last. The myth of The Fall of Barsamin, which comes from the Old Heavanic Pantheon and predate all of the modern religions, details the story of the demigods and the first descendants of Prometheus. Specifically, a large part of the myth details how the evil spirit Herms convinced Lok to destroy the last and most mighty Palace of Barsamin. As the palace fell from the stars it crashed into the city of Promethus utterly destroying it and creating a huge crater in its place. The modern city of Nil is build at the base of the outside rim of the crater. The Barsama Star is built on a flat section of the rim where a slab of bedrock created a section in the steep rim of the crater.   The remaining Promethean people were left scattered across the Yenaria region and without Promethus they struggled to survive. The bleak situation for the survivors is why these days are called The Age of Blackness. Many myths of struggle and challenge are set in this time of despair. For example, The Noshar Migration tale depict the futile attempts survivors to cross the Noshar Wastes to find a more survivable location. However, since the wastes are hundreds of kilometres across the consensus among the Stellites scholars is that the migrations shows just how desperate the survivors where to escape the conditions caused by the fall.
