Old Wenish

With the invasion of Tomarrvish by the Slim Bas and the unification of the Tomarrish empire with the Din Yurk Empire. The Tomarrish people disntly split off from the Old Din Yurkish identity.    The Slim bass invasion left thier land decimated and the looming threat of another invasion left the Tomarrish people to devalue the notion of nonviolence. Instead the notion of pure physical strength and combat prowess took over in the culture and the Tomarrish people became obsessed with protection and physical power. This split happened as they were officially ruled over by the the Din Yurk Empire. The Din Yurk tried to reinforce the notion of human dignity and nonviolence, but the looming threat of invasion cuased his efforts to fail. In fact the Yurks efforts caused a backlash the the Old Finnar religion of Lahism quickly became the dominate religion rejected the divine authority of the Din Yurk.   With the Tomarrish ideal of raw physical power as being the peak achievement also lead into the idea that the strongest also made the best rulers. The culture took on the notion that elections should elect the strongest male in a community. That male would rule for life, and on his death thier would be another election. Over the days the Tomarrish also instituted the notion that every family and not every person got one vote in the election. This again was seen as a revocation of Din Yurk authority.   So while Lahism and the new tomarrish structure took shape. The Din Yurk Empire did not try that hard to surpress the ideas, because many recognized that the threat of a Slim bass invasion was real and the Din Yurk Empire needed to be more prepared. So the Tomarrish people got to keep their beliefs and traditions as long as they paid lip service to Old Din Yurkish ideals.
