Delnari Settlement in Didome | World Anvil

Delnari

The city of modern Delnari was founded in 3872 after Neerse Vimtoric burned the old city of Ancient Delnari to the ground. The survivors from the burned city moved to the Delnari Crescent and renamed the small fishing village there to Delnari.   The modern city now is the bustling capital of the The Delnari Coalition. The city is placed Ideally to control much of the trade through the Den Mar. Addionaly, the coalition also has outpost like slipnor's Rock and other cities in its trading network to further control trade. Seeing as the Den Mar conects the Central Cresshar region to the rest of the world, Delnari has become an imensly wealthy city.

Demographics

Since the city is one of the major tradeports of the world, the city is extermly multi cultural. The majority of the population is Delnarian. Yet subsets of almost all major ethnicities are present in the city.

Government

The city is the capital of the The Delnari Coalition and they run the city. The Coalition is run by a Great Council that is composed of one member of the seven great trading Mars. The council has ultimate descion over all matters related to the state and city. Multiple sub councils take care of the other day to day asspects of administering the city.

Industry & Trade

Delnari is a major trading city and controls almost all of the trade that passes into Central Cresshar. Specifically Delnari controls slipnor's Rock a fortress in the middle of the lower Strepslim. They base a navel fleet that is responsible for checking every ship leaving the Den Mar. The navy checks to make sure every ship has stopped in Delnari and purchased a shipping liesce and declared all their cargo to the harbor masters. This means that almost every trading ship stops at Delnari to declare their cargo and purchase the prper permits. Thus trade supports almost all of Delnari's economey.

Infrastructure

The city is bult on the side of a impact crater. This makes the city streets very steep and most of the buildings almost carved into the hillside. Two main roads flat roads run parrell the the hillside at sea level, the Warfway and the Swampit Way; cross streets connect the two roads by winding up and over the crater rim. One other promineit feature of the infustructure is the exensive rain collection systems that addore each red clay roof. Since the water of Lake Mar Bort is slighly brackish and not drinkable long term, every drop of rainwater is collected for potable water. Residents will even freeze the brackish water in the night and slowly remove the non brackish ice that forms. The is a 80 day old stone aqueduct leading away from the city. The Rivway Aqueduct was supposed to solve the freashwater needs of the city, unfortunatly it was destroyed by multiple storms and finally a storm on 4479 destroyed it and the descision was made to abandon the project.
