Góalanis

Góalanic: /kouːalaːnɪs/
Góalanis (góalverska)

Góalanis is a region north of Gysikan and Goldensands, between the coast of Central Sea to the north, Silver Sea to the east and Pargos Mountains to the south.
Historically it was divided into several kingdoms inhabited by mostly human Góalanics, whose armies were equally well trained in mundane and arcane warfare, able to keep even the Paþarían Empire at bay, save for a couple of colonies. While the region is still populated by góalanics, they now form a lower class ruled by an aristocracy of orcs and half-orcs who gradually conquered Góalanis over the first two centuries after the fall of Paþaría.

Geography

Much of Góalanis is a deciduous forest, especially the eastern part, with cities concentrated along the coast and on the banks of the two major rivers, Bórúm and Garak, in the west.
The Pargos Mountains are sparsely populated as well, the main centers being two Snake Monasteries, the easternmost ones in all of Adynía. Numerous small lakes and ponds dot the mountains, as well as strange rock formations.

Fauna & Flora

Aside from deer, roe deer and boars, the most notable animal living in Góalanis is the aurochs, wild ancestors of the domesticated cattle, once found throughout eastern and central Adynía but now roam only the deepest parts of the woods and the foothills to the south.
Rye and apricots were first domesticated in Góalanis, while spinach, garlic and raspberries are common in the Pargos Mountains.
