Konissía in Voðría
Sikíronian: Konissía pa Voðría /khɔːnɪsːija phaː vɔːðrija/
Konissía in Voðría is a town by the west bank of the lower Helkan Riven in eastern Voðría, the southern province of the Sikíron Empire in central Adynía. It's one of several towns and villages throughout Nemirkía and the Meldon Plain with the same name, which refers to the sky god Alkoníus, and one of the better known ones, along with Konissía in Andartis to the west. Like the latter, the town is home to a mage academy, which specializes in training arcane martial arts, both unarmed forms using shock magic and as well as magic staves.
Konissía in Voðría was founded much more recently than the one in Andartis, starting out as a fort built by the kingdom of Pérgal, one of the successor states of the Paþarían Empire of old, to keep watch on the armies of Tirúlíon to the east. The fort grew into a settlement, and eventually became a center of pérgali training in arcane martial arts in an effort to counter the tirúlíans' skilled mages, with mixed results. After the fall of Pérgal, the academy in Konissía in Voðría since continued its work with relatively few changes.
Aside from the academy, the town is also the closest one to the marshy Helkan delta where the Oracles of Terlataníanus reside, who give prophecy to all who make their pilgrimage there to solve serious dilemmas in their life. Konissían pancakes topped with sesame seeds, honey and local cheese, traditionally served to students at the academy, have become quite popular among the people of northeastern Voðría and northwestern Kaþún.
