Seylis
Ancient: Seyhalix
Paþarían: Seyhalissa
Sikíronian:
Seylis is a city in Lower-Paríon, a province of the northwestern Sikíron Empire in central Adynía, and the largest one on the Meldon Plain. It's known for fine pottery and textiles, good horses, furniture and amber jewelry, the latter two which are made with materials traded from the Záali to the north.
Seylis is an important cult center of Alarus, god of war and storms, the inhabitants sacrifice a horse in his honour and parade with its severed head around the city before burning it on an altar, a custom which long predates written history. It's also traditionally associated with the war goddess Hirpesía, though direct worship has since shifted to the Hirpesían Mysteries, which take place outside the city.

Demographics
Most of the inhabitants are Sikíronians and local Nemirkíans, along with smaller communities of záali, Halinkazíans and Narsíans.
History
The site was inhabited by half-elves for millennia before it was conquered by the dwarven Zameltoníans at the dawn of bronze age, who founded the city of Kúmbra near where Seylis is located. When the Zameltonía collapsed, Kúmbra was abandoned and the invading vakkals (ancient záali) founded a new settlement nearby, known to them as Seyhalix and later Seyhalissa after becoming part of the Paþarían Empire.
Seyhalissa became an important city within Þerakkía, one of the paþarían successor states, and finally was conquered by the sikíronians.

Geography
The city is located at the southern bank of the lower Kir River, not far from Þixos Bay where the river drains into Silver Sea to the west. Ruins of the zameltonían underground city of Kúmbra are found just outside outside Seylis which -while long since looted of any valuables- still has fragments of frescoes which inspire local artists to this day.
