Nemirkíans

Nemirkíans1 is a general term for the human inhabitants of Nemirkía, Kóteran Peninsula and the Meldon Plain in central Adynía, most of which have significant elven, dwarven and -to lesser extend- orcish ancestry.
They are divided into numerous ethnic groups, with the Sikíronians being currently the dominant one. Common elements include veneration of birds (especially birds of prey), sun and sky; preference for burning offerings instead of libations; and wearing feathers or blue clothing to ward off evil.

History

After the fall of Zameltonía, the nemirkíans formed a myriad small city-states throughout central Adynía. Warfare was endemic, either between nemirkíans themselves or against neighbouring people of Núrak and Záal, in order to gain power, resources or perceived glory.
Most of these small states were gradually supplanted by larger, more stable kingdoms until they too were conquered by the Paþaríans hailing from Kóteran Peninsula, who founded the Paþarían Empire some 1300 years ago.
After the sudden collapse of Paþaría, the nemirkíans were once again divided, although now by their loyalty to rival dynasties, founded by rival generals who carved their own kingdoms out the remains of the empire. While each dynasty claimed to be the true successor of the paþaríans, each kingdom eventually developed its own unique culture, due to influences from the major nemirkían and other groups inhabiting them.
Since the establishment of the Sikíron Empire, the current major nemirkían power in the region, many of the major nemirkían ethnic groups still hold fast to their culture, while the smaller ones are now in danger of losing their customs, language and beliefs as they're being merged with (or supplanted by) traditions of the sikíronians.
