Gartaríen
Gartaríen is one of the three regions which the Sjorgús Mountains are traditionally divided into, specifically the eastern part between Paheiríen to the west and Dúnaríen to the east.
The name refers to the Gartaraz-dwarves who make up the majority of the land's inhabitants, along with a few Paheiríen-Elves found in the two Snake Monasteries there, namely Anþa Vylkalí-æ-Algan and Anþa Vylkalí-æ-Kavúlíen, the easternmost ones in the mountains. The region is split into several territories, each ruled by their own tribe named after their totemic animals, with the monasteries functioning as neutral ground which are protected and given annual tributes in form of food and clothing from the nearby tribes. In turn, the dwarves are allowed to visit the Snake Oracles within to resolve dilemmas and receive prophecies.

Geography
Gartaríen covers the area of the mountains between Svarkó Pass to the west and the rivers Taþyrin and Þerles to the east, including the entire Jóal Plateau. It borders the Sikíron Empire to the north, Kingdom of Marissía to the southwest and the mysterious woodlands of Efergen to the southeast.
Villages dot the region, those to the west are inhabited throughout the year, while the eastern tribes seasonally migrate with their livestock between two sites at different elevations.
