Anþa Vylkalí-æ-Algan

Anþa Vylkalí-æ-Algan is one of two Snake Monasteries found in the region of Gartaríen in the eastern Sjorgús Mountains, the other one being Anþa Vylkalí-æ-Kavúlíen, and also the easternmost one in the mountains.
The monastery is located on the northwestern side of the sacred Mt. Algan, between Svarkó Pass to the west and the Jóal Plateau to the northeast. While it technically falls under the territory of the Retetevaz tribe of the Gartaraz-dwarves, the place is considered neutral ground and outsiders can freely visit the monastery so long as they don't cause any trouble.
Similarly to Anþa Vylkalí-æ-Kavúlíen, the Retetevaz and their close allies the Púrtevaz provide the monastery with food, clothing and other necessities, with the former offering woolen clothes and firewood and the latter cheese and dried meat. In turn, the tribes can consult the Snake Oracles on matters that concern their communities as a whole. They also help maintaining the building as well, and have gradually modified and expanded it throughout millennia.

Architecture

Much of the monastery is underground, hewed into the living rock, giving it the appearance of snake monasteries built around sacred caves elsewhere in the Sjorgús Mountains, with a patio of sort outside the entrance for the oracle and her guardians to receive visitors, and to work and study out in the sun.
The roof is tiled with slate brought from Svarkó Pass, while he road leading to the building is flanked by ancient statues of birds and serpents carved out of megaliths erected there long ago, most of which are so weathered that few visitors realize what they depict anything at all.
