Jóos

Þúic: Jóos /jouːɔːs/
Sádric: Jossos /jɔsːɔːs/
Jóos is a town in Valþrús Valley on the eastern edge of Sádris, near the border of Feráa, in eastern Gysikan, and main settlement of the Þúans who inhabit the area. The site has been inhabited for millennia, first by hunter-gatherers of mixed elven and human ancestry hailing from central Adynía, who were then supplanted by a various peoples who practiced agriculture, most recently by Sádreans who named the settlement Jossos.
This changed in the mid-second century a.Paþ, when a ship of dóan warriors from Ytis landed nearby, who had lost course in a storm on their way to Góalanis. The crew made their way to Jossos and was cared for by the villagers as best they could, and in turn the dóans provided the people with wild game to make up for that year's poor harvest, as well as fending off attacks brigands and wild beasts.
Since Jossos was of little importance to the sádrean aristocracy due to being located far from the capital of Ketússos and any notable trade-routes, news of this event spread slowly, and by the time it reached the royal palace, most of the dóans had already settled among the villagers, adopted some of their customs and introduced their own traditions. As they had done nothing to harm the villagers, a treaty was forged between the dóans and Sádris, allowing them to continue living there as long as they continued guarding the region.
Since then, Jossos (called Jóos by the Þúans, dóan descendants) has grown into a town where the majority of þúans still live and practice many of their ancient customs.

Infrastructure

Jóos is located in the upper Valþrús Valley, by the river Þúlra, surrounded by fields, pastures, vineyards and sparse, low woodland beyond. Small shrines and altars are located both within the town as well as in the hills above it, some of which are dedicated to sádrean deities, others to ones of mixed ytean and góalanic origin.
