Mali River

Flowing north out of a western spoke of the Rheuthengage Mountains, the Mali River is broad, slow moving, and in the height of summer, relatively shallow. It serves to irrigate the wheat fields prominent along its banks and water the great herds of cattle and horses found on the Malpighien Steppes. Nearly devoid of fish after centuries of human abuse, it empties into the Wartin Gulf near Wargun. In the winter the shallow waters freeze solid; allowing locals to race ice boats along its length. When the snows melt in the winter the river again swells, only to dwindle as the summer passes.
