Palumkar Estate
Unlike the other noble families of Wargun, the Palumkar Clan clan has eschewed a mansion within the city walls. Instead, they have opted for the open spaces of a moderate estate situated just across the Dun River on a peninsula that bears the family name.
While the estate itself stretches across the peninsula, with lands for grain fields, vegetable gardens, and of course, pasture land for assorted cattle and horses, it is not really a ranch in true Zennonaize fashion. The family merely raises enough food and horse to keep their local staff well fed and their cavalry mounted. Similarly, while they have a small boathouse and dock, one rarely sees the massive longships upon which the families whaling business - and therefore its fortunes - are built. Instead a modest ship, more pleasure craft and taxi than seagoing vessel, sits tied along its dock.
An ancient and mostly decrepit stone wall separates the working ranch from the estate grounds themselves, with a long roadway filled with crushed blue stone winding between carefully pruned cherry trees that are said to be specular when they blossom in the spring. The front of the building boasts a number of small gardens, each designed to contain blooms from spring to autumn and each featuring rare flowers from different regions of Tarien. While modest in size, the variety in the garden is envy of many nobles across the Confederacy.
The mansion itself sites on the western end of the point, its veranda boasting spectacular views of the open Gulf, especially as the Anderi's light fades in the evening. With a full three stories, the mansion is of traditional design, its cellars for storage, the main floor for entertaining, the second for sleeping quarters, and the third for servants. Count Titus maintains a suite here at all times but the remaining rooms - enough for a dozen guests - are kept open for whichever family, friends, or other visitors might stop by.
