Stuffy Mushroom
Situated just south of the Old Dono's Palace in central Wargun, the Stuffy Mushroom is a favorite restaurant for the city's elite. Nobility - from Fendrick Darin, heir to the duchy to Titus Palumkar, leader of their greatest rival clan, haunt the dark stained, wood lined rathskeller on hot summer afternoons and cold winter nights. With a fine selection of whiskey's and what the Prince claims is the finest vintage of sherry, shipped from Mon Finn at great personal expense, the basement tavern offers the city's nobles a quiet, refined place to relax.
The upstairs dining room and lodgings stand in sharp contrast to the rathskeller. With white linen tablecloths. Khadric crystal and Soulmeliti porcelain, experiencing a meal at the Stuffy Mushroom holds all of the pomp one might find at an Inner Seas' castle. The food is, of course, exquisite. Drawing upon the freshest catches available at the Wartin Fish Market and pairing it with delicate pastries, the choicest cuts of beef, and exquisitely paired wines, the wealthiest merchants and noblemen pay outrageously to be pampered and rub elbows. More court business, it is said, is done at the Mushroom than at court itself.
Given its high standards, the Stuffy Mushroom is notoriously fickle about its clientele. They require a strict dress code, one that their black coated and white starched shirt wait staff will politely enforce with a cough, then a word, and then, worst of all, a refusal to take future reservations. Potential customers are, of course, screened. The Inn would rather turn away a dozen guests who do not meet their standards than risk the recurring business of their select group of patrons.
