Jendredi's Treasure
Named after goddess of the sea, this ramshackle establishment is one of the finest on Seal Island, though that might not be saying much. It does have the distinct benefit of being located on a cobbled street, meaning patrons that arrive via the front door - beneath its well worn sign of a mermaid climbing out of a treasure chest - might avoid the mud and muck common to the alleyways on the the islands southwestern half. It is also centrally located, making it easy for sailors from various merchant's vessels on shore leave to mingle with off duty members of Wargun's Watchers, always a recipe for entertainment, even if it does mean that furniture in the tavern is notorious fragile. Finally, it sits directly across the street from the islands only brewery meaning that the lightly colored, slightly salty ale common to the island is always close at hand.
Location, more than the dark and well-littered floor of the tavern's common room, make it a popular establishment. It offers rooms for rent, with rates ranging from the hour to the denary, depending upon the need of a traveler. For a few coins more, those rooms are guaranteed to be free of vermin - both the four legged and the Northwest Syndicate variety. Though, truth be told, if its Syndicate contacts that one needs, they can probably be found here too, for a few coins, of course. All in all, the amenities of the Treasure are well worth the visit, even if the sour smell - complete with a light undercurrent of bile - might make it seem otherwise.
