Benidrene City Palace
Located almost exactly in the center of the Wargun, the walled mansion that the Benidrene Clan calls their city home is too large for the amount of family in residence. As a rule, the Benidrene's prefer not to visit the capital of the duchy. When they do, they find their city property often in need of dusting and a good airing out. Tundar Benidrene, the only member of the family to live in the three story mansion on a full time basis, keeps sheets over the furniture on the second floor, where only his bedroom and one guest chamber are kept by the modest staff residing on the third floor - a butler and maid who somehow manage to do the cooking, keep the house, mend clothing, tend the gardens, and even manage the horses in the garden. It helps that the two are married and half a half-dozen children that they put to work on a regular basis.
While the mansion itself is nothing special, the gardens - though modest in size - are said to be spectacular. With an artful arrangement of flowers that appear both natural and perfectly placed at the same time, something is always in bloom. It is said that they even have a number of rare flowers not native to the Malpighien Steppes that were imported at great expense from the Soulmeliti Forests by a Benidrene several generations past.
Like the gardens, the small grove of trees in the northeast corner of the property is unusual. A mix of cherry and pear trees, it is said to be quite spectacular when it blooms pink and white in the spring. The sour cherries make a fine pie that, if rumors are to be believed, is a specialty of the staff and quite a favorite of Tessa Darin who can often be seen dining at the estate with Tundar.
