Benidrene Clan

No clan - other than the Delante's themselves- own more pasture lands than the Benidrenes. Their pastures run from the edge of the Wartin Gulf nearly to the Rheuthengage Mountains in a band just south of the Phezrim Forests and include the village of Paaz in their holdings. The family keeps the town as its county seat, ruling from a large, castle built from the forest’s bounty.

As such, the family rarely sends more than a token delegation to their large palace within Wargun and many members see that service as much of a punishment as an opportunity. Most family members tire of this service quickly, longing from the open Steppes of their home instead of the theater and music one finds at court and as such, pay scant attention to the invitations that other families receive in their stead. Still, those “stationed” as they say in Wargun do their best to remind the Duke of they taxes they pay and the cavalry they provide at every opportunity, so much so that Jothel has been known to utter their “let us not forget the Benidrene contributions before it can be uttered by the family.

Despite their dislike for Wargun, they like the sea even less. While it’s true that Paaz might boast a small fishing fleet, no Benidrene would be caught dead aboard a ship. The downside to this belief, of course, is that Wargun's Watchers are as much a naval power as a cavalry and opportunities for more martially minded Benidrene’s are somewhat limited. This suits the family just fine, of course, they have plenty of land of their own and with just a bit more gold might find their way to convince the Dono that it would be wise to make Paaz into a separate duchy of its own.
