Rheuthengage Mountains

One of Tarien''s mightiest mountain ranges, the Rheuthengage Mountains form the spine of the continent, running in a broad arc from Trai'dietch Pass in the northern portions of the Prydith Peninsula in the west to the shores of the Gulf of Kharl to the east. Along its peaks and ridges are some of Tarien's wildest places and oldest kingdoms.

Being so broad, the mountains range in form an height from the relatively low peaks found in its southern portion, especially along the Darsiac Ocean to the towering peaks in central Tarien north oof Galencia and west of the Underground Kingdom of the Children of Kharl. While the Khadra and Galencians have spent centuries exploring the passes and ranges that border their homelands, a good deal of the mountain range remains unexplored.

A Valley Deep in the Rheuthengage Mountains

Aside from serving as home to Humans and Khadra, the mountains are home to the largest population of Goblin tribes on Tarien. Scattered in the wilder places, they often migrate to the borders of civilization, especially along the Trans-Rheuthengage Highway where they can prey on caravans foolish attempting to conduct trade. Worse than Goblins, however, are the myriad of predators that call the mountains their home. Ranging from the dangerous leopards that prowl these peaks to the mighty eagles that soar above them, dangerous from the natural world are plentiful. Those of the preternatural world, however, make them seem like cats and birds. Giant Rocs make meals of both and in turn are dined upon by the terrible red dragons that frequent the most isolated portions of the range.
