Prydith Peninsula

Stuck like a spike between the Darsiac Ocean and the Sea of Storms, the Prydith Peninsula contains a vast number of climates and a number of Human settlements. Geographers have long been puzzled over how to classify it - with many insisting that its eastern shores be part of the Inner Seas and the peninsula around Theridon Bay as part of the Northwest Fingers. A drive for simplicity, however, has led modern scholars to consider the entirety of Prydith a region in its own rights.

Along its western coast, oceans winds bring heavy spring and autumn rains, feeding great forests and fertile farmland. Clouds hit the aptly named Wind Wall Mountains mountains, however, and never pass, leaving the lands to the east of the peninsula's great spine dry, where only the hardiest of plants survive. Often, the mighty River Prydith which runs through the desert's center is the only source of water for dozens of leagues. As one nears the eastern coast, however, the swirling weather of the Sea of Storms once again provides ample rainfall and trees return, albeit with smaller guardians than those in the west.

The combination of good soil and proximity to other human settlements makes the eastern coast one of the most heavily populated areas of Tarien. Dozens of fiefdoms, loosely united under a high king make up the Kingdoms of Prydith, a large nation that occupies much of the southern peninsula. Further north, the maritame Citystate of Yaty continues to expand its borders. At its interior, are the mysterious Wemic, living nomadic lives that defy human comprehension.
