Inner Seas
This broad region of Tarien includes the cradle of human civilization including the Island of Eldoria and all of the human settlements around the Eldorian Sea - except curiously for those on the northern shore. Similarly strange, geographers include the Galkin Plain - everything south of the Middens and north of the Geltamar Canal including the shores of the Sea of Storms, despite the fact that its other shores belong to different regions.
It is primarily a Human dominated region of grasslands and forests and low rolling hills. The climate is temperate and even sub-tropical along its southern reaches in areas like the Dragon's Teeth. The seas themselves churn up plenty of rain, making it an perfect location to grow crops and cultivate a civilization.
And it is here that human civilization exploded. Among the multitude of human families, kingdoms, and city-states it is where Tarien moves fastest. Ships regularly travel routes from Karradone, through the Geltamar Canal, to Drythe and Grennig, keeping the population of this region more connected than any other. Temples, great and small, devoted to handful of human deities can be found in every city and village. It has resulted in organizations that transcend borders, further quickening the advancement of society, like the Bank of Karradone and the Merchant's Guild. It has also enabled the expansion of less savory organizations like the Brotherhood of Thieves.
