Damsu River
The broad, slow moving waters of the Damsu River flow south and west from the Wind Wall Mountains across the plains of the western Prydith Peninsula, marking the southern border of the Citystate of Yaty. Small farms line its northern shore, the silt-laden waters of the river diverted by hundreds of irrigation trenches to feed vast fields of wheat and barley that serve as the breadbasket to the City on the Hill. The shore is well patrolled from the Darsiac Ocean to the Mountains with soldiers garrisoned at Bennet, keeping it free from the giants that roam the mountains and devoid of the predators one might find on such a grassy plain. The waters themselves are constantly reddish brown from the churning silt and clay in its bed. While catfish freely navigate these murky waters, feeding on the water grasses that grow within, few other fish find such an environment hospitable, making the river of little use beyond its irrigative purposes. Some locals claim to have seen an ancient catfish of massive size - that of a horse - that is said to feed on farmers that venture to close to its shore at night. Most, however, scoff at the notion as mere superstition.
