Tower of Fire and Ice

Located on the long and heavily forested southern spoke of the Prydith Peninsula, the Tower of Fire and Ice is as much a place of legend as a structure of stone and mortar. According to legend, the tower sits on a rise deep amongst the rain soaked in the Raiznith Forests, its parapets reputedly climbing higher than the massive oaks, elms, ash. Around its base lays killing field of earth blackened so badly that even now, nearly two and half centuries after its abandonment by the archmagi Danara Derringer, the forest will not encroach. Its walls, made of alternating bands of marble color snow white, deep red, and smokey black, are smooth and unmarred, eschewing such mundane adornments as windows or doors. For those who have dared to approach, the veins of silver or perhaps mithril run through the walls, a smooth script in an unknown language hinting at great power. Indeed, tavern tales popular in the Kingdoms warn that any who have approached close enough to read the script suffer an untold number of ghastly fates that range from being struck blind to finding themselves the target of a bolt of lightning that descends from otherwise clear skies. Those warnings, and the occasional reminder by a curious village lad or lass that invariably suffers a similar fate, have kept the great tower's contents a mystery.
