Inn of the Fallen Wall
Located in the Mathe, the Inn of the Fallen wall mirrors much of the construction in the Outer Ring. It is long and low, taking up an entire block with its plaster and beam walls. It takes its name from an arc of stone that cuts through its common room, the remains of original city walls that fell during the Battle of Mathe. The center of the inn is a large, open common room with a dozen square tables, each comfortably seating up to six patrons. During mealtimes, the reasonable prices and plain but hearty fair ensure that each is full, either with those staying at the inn or the common folk living in the area. The room, like the rest of the inn, is clean and simple in decor. A pair of double doors along the back wall lead to a kitchen that seems to bustle constantly with preparations for the next meal. As dusk falls the local crowd fades as the inn offers no entertainment and does little in the way of tavern business.
Along either wall of the common room is a single door that leads down a corridor that soon splits into two, giving the building a vaguely "X" shape and four wings, each boasting four different guest rooms. The rooms on the western wings are simple, each offering two modest beds with firm but clean mattresses. Rooms on the eastern wing only have a single bed of somewhat finer quality, though no one would consider them luxury accommodations. This split offering makes the inn a favorite with frugal merchants, allowing their staff to sleep four to a room in one wing and will claiming a bit of privacy and comfort for themselves.
