Lion's Den
Guarded by two statues of mottled grey marble lions, one on either side of its pillared entrance, the Lion’s Den boasts the finest accommodations in Yaty. The inn is strategically located where the Middle City’s neat lines of brick homes and shops begins to melt into the whitewashed walls and blue tiled domes of the Upper City, allowing it to cater to all the gold that flows into the city, both new and old. Once past the lush green velvets of its foyer and adjoining coat room, patrons find themselves inside a spacious dining room that boasts a dozen tables of various sizes and uniformed waitstaff. While the dinnerware may not be Soulmeliti it is Galencian, and finely made at that. The aroma of fresh sourdough and dark breads mingles with the herbal tinged aroma of roasted herbs and delicate fruit sauces, a house specialty. The Den has a fine wine cellar of its own and maître d’ will happily send a runner for anything else a guest may wish to procure. Spirits ranging from Khadric mead to Mon Finnian whisky’s can be found behind a short bar cut from the same marble as the Inn’s guardians.
Upstairs the Lion’s Den has three floors of well apportioned rooms. Each chamber comes complete with soft satin sheets and fine feather beds. Like other establishments in Yaty, it offers running water as a courtesy to its patrons. Unlike other establishments, though, the Lion’s Inn offer’s hot baths directly from its taps. Upon request, a guest may request that water pouring from their rooms taps come through a series of pipes that pass by the kitchen ovens to create a steaming bath without the need for the soot of a fire or even hot stones.
