Zeb Character in Tarien | World Anvil

Zeb

Orkish Rogue

Scrawny for an Ork, Zeb left her home in the Orkish Hills at a young age, travelling south and west until finally arriving in the streets of Geyla. With few prospects for food or shelter, she quickly fell in with a disreputable band of scoundrels and rogues in the city's poorest slums. Her nimble fingers quickly proved her worth as she showed an aptitude for picking pockets, cutting purses, and slipping into places others would have preferred remain secure. Over the course of a half-dozen years she rose in prominence with the city's underworld, a dues paying member of the Mountain Highwaymen.

Like many thieves, however, she fell victim to the greed of her fellows. After being double-crossed and left penniless in the summer of 748 AC she gathered her few remaining belongings and left Geyla, determined for a fresh start elsewhere. She was barely three days into her journey alone the Trans-Rheuthengage Highway, however, when an unseasonable storm burred her in nearly a stride's worth of snow. Most amazingly, an elegant woman, dressed in a purple gown and floating atop the snow drifts strode in Zeb's meager camp to offer respite in exchange for a year's service. Zeb - ever suspicious - turned her down in the most ungracious manner.

The next morning when the storm cleared, Zeb awoke to find herself in a different set of mountains. Fortunately, she met up with the Company of the Golden Flower, agreeing to join them on their return to civilization and, hopefully, a fresh start.
