A beautiful as fresh fallen snow in a silent mountain forest and as alien to mere mortals as the windswept landscape atop a glacier, Mayve rules Tarien's winters with an icy detachment that rarely betrays its intentions. Indeed, her intentions seem beyond even the brightest of Human scholars who have shamefully admitted after researching the historical record of the actions have no understanding of her motives. Without seeming rhyme or reason she has granted boons to some, cursed others, and even utterly destroyed an unfortunate few with a waive her slender hand. All seem to agree that sense of melancholy clings to her, emanating from her core in waves that, should the ravings of those poor souls who have claimed to both meet her and survive be believed, batters an onlookers soul.
Favoring deep purples, forest greens, and lush blues, often contrasting them with the pure white skins of snow bears, wolves, or even dragons, Maeve's dress is eternally stylish, regal, and utterly indifferent to the harsh weather of her home. Equally at home in the ballroom gowns, velvet capes, and hunting leathers, her appearance always matches her situation to perfection. With lush, dark hair, pointed ears, and a vaguely Soulmeliti - yet perhaps more angular appearance, her beauty defies mere mortal standards. She moves with a preternatural fluidity that one might question; many an onlooker has blinked at her sudden change in position, unaware that she has moved at all.
According to legend, the same is said to be true of her home, a palace of ice that mysteriously appears in the deepest reaches of wilderness without warning, invariably bringing with it a winter storm no matter the climate or season.
Maeve Snowbound
While her intentions may be unclear, almost all agree that avoidance is the best strategy when dealing with the Queen of Ice and Snow is one of avoidance. To escape her notice, remain out of her alien gaze, is the only sure defense. While nearly every encounter with her describes her as perfectly calm, a confidence clearly built over millenia of absolute control, a few of the oldest Soulmeliti tales regarding Mayve describe a temper and wrath that, once unleashed, makes the fiercest blizzard seem like a warm spring day.
Dark haired, uncannily beautiful, and utterly alien in appearance, Mayve is the Winter Queen, a fey of immense power and unknowable motives. Bringing snow and darkness with her, she travels Tarien in her palace, appearing deep in the wilderness to Tiras knows what ends.
