Ironstone
The second of the mining towns built by the Royal Ghendran Mining Corporation, Ironstone is smaller than its northern cousin. Situated on the western shores of Lake Truth, it is also smaller and dingier, a dramatic contrast to an otherwise idyllic lake. Most buildings resemble shacks and are prone to collapse in the occasional earthquake or even strong wind. The mines, which contain iron (as one might expect) as well as copper and the odd vein of silver, are in similar shape. With the ore spread out further, and less valuable in general, the mining company has clearly invested less in the town and the mine. Despite the dangers, young men, often the poor from Geran and Geyla, are easily recruited for work – often in short and deadly stints – with tales of the riches found in other mines, only to find themselves here.
