Drakshal Monastery

The stone high stone walls, wide courtyards, and slate roofed buildings of the Drakshal Monastery have looked down from the foothills above the Kragen River in the eastern Rheuthengage Mountains for nearly two millennia. And while not every stone dates backs to its founding by Kjeldon the Great, much of the foundation, laid in partnership with Khadric neighbors, remains. Indeed, many of the buildings are stone-sung by Khadric Priests, who appreciate the dedication that the monks give to their belief in their short lives. These stone-sung buildings, including the great hall that serves as the central gathering place, library, and cafeteria, have an awe-inspiring beauty – rock of pure white marble and black obsidian melded together and shaped into curves without mortar or seam.

The open spaces of the monastery are littered with small exercises fields, practice dummies, and strange pole rings in an I-shaped field for monks favorite pastime, the Dharjan game of Molanum. Other open spaces are devoted to gardens for quiet contemplation and an apiary for the production of honey. Outside the walls, small vegetable gardens and large fields of grain help the monks both subsist in their isolation and the production of their primary trade good, the legendary Drakshal Ale.
