Dark and sweet, this beverage brewed by the monks of the Drakshal Monastery is inspired by Khadric brews but uses only well roasted barley and wheat for its mash. The resulting beer has maltier flavor than the sweet mead popular in New Kharolin. It is also significantly stronger. Lightly hopped many say the beverage reminds of them coffee grown on plantations in Azermathia.

The exact process of brewing the ale remains a closely guarded secret. Its export, in limited batches, to both Galencia and the Underground Kingdom accounts for most of the meager revenues that the monks take in. They use this gold for tools and materials need for the upkeep of their mountain home.

Restorative Powers

Something about the secret brewing process causes the ale to have restorative effect on those who drink it. A single mug of the ale, if drunk, will restore health to a person, just as if they had imbibed a potion of healing. The strength of the brew, however, is also legendary and drinking it imposes a -1 penalty to all rolls that a character makes for the next hour. Drinking subsequent mugs do not provide additional curative effects, though they do incur additional penalties.
