Gor'krath Tribe
While the Mountain Highwaymen may be infamous for their tolls and nightly raids, the Gor'krath are far more unpredictable and savage, attacking indiscriminately and without warning. Operating generally outside of the Highwaymen's territory, these Goblins have a reputation for brutal tactics and cunning ambushes along the stretch of Trans-Rheuthengage Highway that runs through the southeastern Trans-Rheuthengage Highway between the Kragen River and the Lawless Steppes.
The tribe itself is somewhat fractured, split into roughly a dozen smaller warbands that operate independently and are united only under the ruthless leadership of their chieftain, Krathgar Blood-Eye, who demands tribute from each warbands leader. Each of these bands controls its own ranging from narrow mountain passes to dense, fog-filled valleys, striking quickly and disappearing before help can arrive. The smaller nature of these bands allows them to move nimbly across the jagged terrain and avoid the heavier Imperial patrols that stick to the main highway. Their territory actually extends as far south as the Larkspur Range where bands harass the many small mining operations out of Katzpütch.
Their warbands are organized around the strongest warriors, and internal power struggles are common, with lesser leaders rising and falling rapidly as strength determines status. They also squabble with each other, the stronger warbands pushing the less ones into less desirable territory, with the most band - Krathgar's own - firmly holding the most lucrative ambush locations along the Highway. Much as there is infighting amongst the warbands for dominance, Krathgar himself is not immune to challenges. Against all odds, however, he has kept the tribe united for over a decade with his mix of fear and tactical prowess.
This stability has been a boon to the tribes fortunes and their numbers have swollen so much that at least one warband has split off the from the tribe, eschewing fealty to Krathgar before quickly striking west, deeper into the mountains and aiming for the ruins of an old Khadric mine. They have neither been heard nor seen since.
