Gulf of Kharl

Where the Great North Sea bends south, curling around the forested land to the north and west of the Rheuthengage Mountains, it dives into the continent for nearly 800 miles. Along with it come icy northern waters that, when brushed up against warmer land create storms both its east and west. Trapped by mountains to the west, the rain spawns Gruegrick's Woods, named for the famed Khadric explorer. To the south and east the Orkish Hills and Denton Plains give it longer to fall, creating extensive forests all along the coast and eventually deep into the Soulmeliti homeland. Despite the storms, the deep waters of the Gulf are home to massive schools of cold water fish such as salmon and cod, as well as seal and whales that feed upon them.
