Opennopf Bay
Located along the northeast coast of the Nerrid Peninsula, the Oppenopf Bay is named for the Nerrid shipwright and inventor, Opennopf Eriksonsonsonsonson who famously sank there in the mid-fifth century. Like much the eastern coast of the Peninsula, it is shallow and cold, freezing over completely in the winter, making it a favorite hunting ground for white bears. In the warmer months the bay is filled with fish, the seals that prey upon them, and the black and white whales that find the seals an excellent meal.
