Delante Clan
It may seem that the Delante Clan rivals the d'Uthar Family for their historical stability. They have, after all, ruled the Zennonaize Confederacy for nearly 600 years. And while their hold over the Dono's Estate has certainly lasted longer than any other Clan's, the truth of the matter is that leadership of the clan has shifted from cousin to cousin several times as political infighting has resulted in a number of terminated family lines. The squabbles have been so fierce in recent years that some have joked that its safer to be on a Nerrid Smoke Powder quality control team than a Delante food taster.
The result is that in the past twenty years there have been six different Dono's from the Delante Clan, each reigning for less time than their predecessors. The current Dono, Torin Delante, isn't even a true member of the clan, his father having married into it with the aid of a generous dowry that helped to refill the family's coffers.
Still, the family has done an excellent job of keeping the infighting opaque to the outside world. No matter what internal intrigue is brewing, the clan still comes together to fight off an outside threat, presenting a unified front to the rest of the Confederacy and keeping a Delanate firmly on the Dono's throne. In fact, if it were not for the plots of other clans attempting to wrest away that throne causing brief interludes in the clan's own backstabbing, they might have managed to wipe themselves out a decade ago.
