Head of the Palumkar Clan
Titus, a straight backed man with slightly bowed legs from his years aboard a longship, has no remaining children of his own. Indeed, he lost his wife years ago and, despite his popularity with the many merchant widows, has never remarried. Instead, he has focused his energies on his family’s fortunes, especially when he became the Palumkar Clan patriarch a decade past.
Referred to as Uncle Titu by the younger members of the family, he has found this task quite a challenge, harder than separating an old bull whale from its pod or even than facing down Jendredi's wrath on a late fall voyage. His adversary, as he describes them, are the relentless Darin Clan. With their iron grip on the northeast of the confederacy increasing almost quickly as their wealth with the steady hand of Duke Jothel at the tiller, Titus has found it nearly impossible to keep pace. The worry lines have deepened on his face in the past decade though not as quickly as his hairline receded, prompting him to shave his pate, something that many of the city’s most eligible widowers seem to find attractive.
Of late he fears that he might need to resort to something more drastic and has considered taking up shipping, if only he could make the math work. Unfortunately, it still seems cheaper sell his family’s whale oil to caravan’s bound south across the Malpighien Steppes, now matter how he adds the numbers. This had lead him to grim conclusion that his family might need an advantageous marriage and given the Duke’s problem with his youngest heir , might actually be feasible, even if he knows it will break his heart to see Korryn married to such a pathetic man.
Distinguished and grandfatherly, Uncle Titu, as the younger members of his clan call him, leads the Palumkar clan with a steady hand at the tiller. Well past concerns for his own passions he focuses his energies on the family's whale oil business and the problem of marrying off his youngest heir.
