Darin Clan
It is not often that one finds the family of a deposed monarch persisting with the strength and vigor of the Darin Clan. Generally a lord, no matter how minor, once deposed, finds themself impoverished. Their successors may see them as a threat and have them killed. Often the entire family is eradicated. While the reasons may have been lost to history, Ryukyu Fleet-Foot did not persecute Frent Darin XXV when he abdicated his throne and hid behind the walls of Wargun.
Since that time, the Darins have flourished. While they still maintain a home in Wargun, their main estate lies neast of the city, further up the coast of the Wartin Gulf and running almost to the River Phezi. Here they maintain huge herds of horse and cattle, second only the Delante Clan in size. According to many in the Inner Seas their steeds, while slightly smaller in stature than many Zennonaize bred horses, are said be both quicker and sturdier than any other.
Within the town itself, the Darin clan exerts its largest influence around the docks which its small fleet of fishing ships calls home. Single masted, like most other ships in the cold waters of the Gulf, the Darin's ships bring back huge nets full of cod in the spring and the fall. In the summer they hunt the massive whales of the Great North Sea, making the clan one of the largest providers of oil in all of Tarien.
With all of their wealth, the Darin's have expressed no designs on the throne. By maintaining unwavering support for the Delante Clan and keeping only a token representative in Zennon, they largely avoid the messy politics of the Confederacy.
