River Phezi
Named from the founder of Paaz, the small Zennonaize town that sits at its mouth, the river Phezi runs east to west from the Rheuthengage Mountains, through the Phezrim Forests and into the Wartin Gulf. Waters in the river retain the chill of their origin deep in the mountain snows well into the journey and the river runs fast and deep for most of its course. While this makes fording it challenging - most make the crossing in Paaz itself where a few locals run flat-bottomed ferries that they pull across water on taut ropes - its makes ideal conditions for milling. A few smaller mills line its shores near the town, handling the grain produced by local farmers. A more impressive mill, however, sits upriver perhaps a half-dozen leagues where the logs from the massive trees of the Phezrim Forests float to be converted to planks that are shipped south to Wargun for use in longships.
