Silver Spring Inn

Located in the northern part of Gartcha, this large, ell-shaped building has a large common that covers the bulk of the first floor. With a trio of warm hearths lining the walls and a long, honey-colored bar that ripples and curves around the common room, its course akin to creek meandering through the Malpighien Steppes. Dozens of silver mugs line the back wall, each etched with the name of its owner, highlight the fact that the Silver Spring Inn is an establishment that relies upon its regulars, be they the well to do artisans of the city, middle ranking officers from the Eldorian Legion or ship captains that frequent the establishment when in port.

Soft chamber music usually fills the room as various string and bow wielding musicians are employed most after afternoons and evenings. Tables are clothed in deep green linens and places set with Galencian porcelain that was at least informed by its more expensive Soulmeliti cousins. Fare is generally Eldorian, light and focused on fresh ingredients with some sort of sauce and a side of white, crusty bread. While the menu rotates with the seasons, the kitchen will always make its famous au gratin potatoes and onions upon request. While the inn certainly offers cider and ale most diners take advantage of their well appointed wine cellar featuring bottles from the vineyards in heavily logged cleared clearings of the Deerpath Woods.

The second and third floors of the Inn are home to guest accommodations with small but clean and comfortable rooms on the second floor and larger, more well appointed suites on the third. While the Inn has no stables of its own, they have a relationship with one just down the street and are happy to send on of their boys to fetch and saddle a patron's horses for them. This service, like any other at the Inn comes at a premium as travelers find their purses significantly lighter after visiting the Silver Spring Inn than they might at any number of other local establishments. The Inn's regulars, however, swear by Inn, often citing its attention to quality and courtesy as the reason for their loyalty.
